KG stared down, ignored ex-Celtic Allen

08:01 AM ET 10.31 | In the sidebar story that was Ray Allen vs. Boston in the season opener, Allen always seemed a bit more conciliatory. [On Tuesday, all Allen] wanted was a little friendly attention from his former teammate, but Kevin Garnett would have none of it, staring down his former friend. Needless to say, the Boston Celtics aren't taking Allen's decision to sign with the Miami Heat in stride. Fate would have it that Allen played his former teammates in his first official game with the Heat. When Allen checked in with 2:45 left in the first quarter, most within the Boston organization played nice with Allen, except Garnett. Allen patted Garnett on the shoulder and the Celtics' center responded with nothing but a menacing glare.

Classic!
New respect for Garnett, he's old school.

I'm a Celtic fan. I look at Pierce who survived the Pitino years and Rondo as true Celtics. Garnett and Allan were just hired guns that came together for a title. I doubt than Garnett will even finish his career with Boston. Kev thanks for the title but you'll never be considered a true Celtic like Russel, Havlicek, Bird, Cousy, J.C. Jones, ect so keep your mouth shut and keep bullying bench players.

I like Ray, but it was his decision to sever ties with his old team.

They are all hired guns. Few players now stay with their original team.

Not a very classy move by KG. Doc didn't act that way. Nor did Pierce. Glad Ray took the high road last night.
P.S. Allen sure looked like he has a good amount left in the tank last night. And he is certainly still a better player than Jason Terry.

Okay, KG. We all get it... you are not happy with Ray Allen.
Now move on.

Glad that game is over and now we don't have Ray Allen/KG/Doc Rivers threads every day

He took less money to play for a better team. Some people would say that is smart/the right thing to do.
Also, he would have been coming off the bench in Boston, as well. Better to back up D Wade than Courtney Lee/Avery Bradley.

Celtics wouldn't of traded for Lee if they Ray had stayed. And Bradley is hurt. Ray would of started.

Ray drama aside, Jeff Green ONCE AGAIN showed that he's a flop shop.

Ok. So he would have started till Bradley got back. Doc would rather start Bradley. He has made that clear. Boston has four SGs right now. So they didn't want him to start anymore and his minutes and shots were going to be cut. Why stay?

Really classy move there, KG. Why blame Allen for what he did? You could have stayed in Minnesota and help that franchise build into a winner, but you weren't exactly loyal to them, either. You got your ring with the Cs, and your team isn't getting any younger. Allen has an opportunity to go out a winner, and he was a free agent. Plus, didn't the C's try to trade him several times? Get over it, KG, and move on. Ray has.
