Pacers leading scorer out indefinitely

08:05 AM ET 10.31 | For the past five seasons, Danny Granger has led the Pacers in scoring, but this season won't start that way. Being cautious with [Granger's] sore left knee in the NBA's preseason didn't help the pain go away. Neither did last month's platelet-rich plasma injection. The Indiana Pacers finally decided Tuesday to sideline their leading scorer indefinitely pending more medical opinions. The Pacers will open the season tonight in Toronto with free agent acquisition Gerald Green starting in Granger's small forward spot. ... But the loss of Granger, who injured the knee in last season's Miami series and tweaked it in an off-season workout, can't be understated, and coach Frank Vogel said there's no timetable for his return.

Pacers have to have Granger. For better or for worse, he's their team leader and best player

w/o Granger, they will not be top 4 in the east.

They'll be fine without him... he seems to disappear when they need him most anyways...

other than miami and boston- all the other contenders for playoff spots have key pieces that are hurtI think they should be able to weather the storm for a whiletime for hibbert to start playing like a man

Forget Hibbert, he won't get any better with the kinda contract he got.

CLE can surprise a few teams. Jersey will be in the mix for top 4.

I think the bottom 4 is already determined - CHA, ORL, WAS, MIL.

Guess I'm starting to like them Hawks :-)

QUOTE(#1):

Now here's a player that should have had the operation in the offseason. He had problems during the playoffs and mid summer.

He was too busy trying to be the "tough guy" on the court..
