[Few would] imagine -- though many fans surely hoped -- that Youkilis would be seen wearing Boston's colors again. However, with the White Sox declining the 33-year-old's $13 million option for 2013 on Tuesday, could a reunion actually happen? It's an interesting scenario to think about, and one that shouldn't be immediately written off. ... Maybe as a one year stop-gap at 1B. But Sox need to get younger and find a new identity. Bringing back more guys that contributed to the downfall doesn't make much sense.

When you look at the alternatives, It's not a bad idea. His power number went way up once he left Boston, which tells you how much playing for Valentine affected him. Especially, when you factor in that he was playing in Fenway Park. How could his power numbers go up when going to US Celllar Field in Chicago? If he could hit .280 15-20 HR's and 80 RBI's and play gold glove type defense than take a shot. That's about what Millar did in 2004 and what Youkilis gave them in 2007.

Given the purge that just happened - I beleive if the rebuilding is done in a rather earnest manner - that it would be about 3 years (the 2015 season) to be solidly competitive. But people and management are going to have to be patient.

In Manassas, we had some gusts and a whole lotta rain all through Monday/Tuesdaymorning. Not nearly as bad as anything elsewhere in my opinion. I think for Manassas, Isabelle was worse. We were really on the outskirts being further south and west of landfall for Sandy.
