Hokies star unimpressed with Miami's home field

08:22 AM ET 10.31 | In the eyes of Virginia Tech quarterback Logan Thomas, gameday at Sun Life Stadium lacks a certain something. Talking to reporters in Blacksburg on Tuesday, Thomas gave his thoughts on playing in South Florida. "I guess the last time I went was two years ago and it's a big stadium for any team. I guess because 'The U' is the way 'The U' is now and not of the old ages, that it's not as full as it has been and used to be," Thomas said. "I don't know how to put it up against another stadium. It still has some sound to it, but it's not what you would expect a team that has a legacy like Miami to have. Communication should be fine." Thomas threw one pass in the Hokies' 31-17 win over the Hurricanes in their last trip to Miami Gardens.

Sun Life Stadium is way too big for the Hurricanes. We didn't even sell out the Orange Bowl every game in winning years. Unfortunately having a stadium more suited to The U and being even remotely close to campus is currently, and for the foreseeable future, a pipedream. Add the fact that Miami is a bandwagon sports town and you have an empty stadium.

Is there any particular reason that you back VT in this contest (other than your allegience to UF)?

Is Sun Life Stadium a suitable location for future Orange Bowl games? Is the aging original Orange Bowl adjacent to the campus? If it were demolished, would the location be suitable for a new UM stadium or better redeveloped to alternate purposes? Where would be the ideal location for a new UM stadium?

All of my living family members on my dads side have graduated from Va Tech. My first college football game was at the Orange Bowl Miami vs Va Tech. The good guys won and I did the Hokie Pokie.

Tarp over the upper deck like they used to for Marlins games.

overpriced seating , 12 dollar beers , 95 degree weather , crappy team that hasnt been relevant for the last decade , nobody sits in their assigned seats , most people that attend the games are not even alumni just loud abnoxious drunk individuals picking fights. other than that its a wonderful establishment to bring ur family on a Saturday afternoon .
