Auburn ready to sack AD, too?

08:23 AM ET 10.31 | Jay Gogue's letter to the Auburn faithful paints an unsettling future not only for Gene Chizik, but also for AD Jay Jacobs. [It's] up to Gogue to provide some leadership to put an end to Auburn's nightmare, and there's some indication that the president with the well-earned reputation of being a hands-off chief executive may be trying to wrap his hands around the situation. It's believed that, behind the scenes, someone on Auburn's behalf has reached out to gauge the interest of a potential candidate to succeed Jacobs as AD in the near future. It's someone who, like Jacobs, is a former Auburn player, but unlike Jacobs, has successfully managed a multimillion-dollar business. That potential candidate is former Auburn kicker Scott Etheridge.

Its gonna cost Aubie a lot of Benjamins to cut Jacobs, Chizik, and the coaching staff loose. As of now they have a highly rated recruiting class lined up that could change quickly with a coaching shakeup. On the other hand, they have not done much since Scam left.

I am sure there are some deep pocketed donors who will not mind helping buy out the lot of them!

If they're gonna make the change, better to get things moving now, or at least ahead of the other teams that will be going down the same road.

Reckon they feel a complete change is necessary. Suggest don't hire someone just because they played sports for Auburn. Alabama is a good lesson in that regard. They wanted a former Bear Bryant player and all they got were losers. Open your eyes and seek the best no matter where they played ball or went to school.
If they feel the way they do and it does not work out, no skin off my back as it will mean they will continue to lose which is good for my team in the SEC West.

As a devout 'Bama fan, I think Auburn should give them all a 5 year extension on their contracts! :) Seriously though...they may have no choice but to clean house if this rumor of NCAA investigations has some truth to it.
