Fisher says Steven Jackson staying in St. Louis

12:09 PM ET 10.31 | St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher squelched the Steven Jackson trade talk at his Tuesday afternoon press conference. "The Steven Jackson rumors are rumors," Fisher said. "He's our running back. We're not calling around nor are we getting calls, for that matter. So, I'll put that to rest." Jackson's name has been floating around the rumor mill for days. Reports from ESPN and other outlets had teams from the Cowboys to the Packers as potential suitors for the veteran running back, the $3.7 million remaining on his contract supposedly seen as a minor hurdle for those teams to negotiate. It's very likely that the Rams did not get the kind of offers the team was hoping for in exchange for a player of Jackson's stature.
