Alabama should be able to compete in the NFL afterall they both pay their players.

First of all Spurrier spent time in the NFL with the Redskins. The job he did in DC is not something I would call coaching.
Second of all, Spurrier is drinking the garnet kool aid served up in the South Carolina coaches office. If you don't believe me, just ask Dabo Swinney at Clemson.

How did the NFL teams do against Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Tennessee, Missouri, or Michigan? Do any of those teams even have winning records? Even the Raiders.... well most of the worst teams in the NFL would romp those teams as well, and Alabama.

Remember the days when the college all stars would play the NFL champ ? They couldn't compete and that is why they ended the series.

The NFL teams (even the "bad" one) have NFL quality players at all levels and Bama doesn't. Like saying last year that Kentucky could beat the Wizards....no they couldn't. Even the players on the bad teams are still high quality players.

Spurriers track record in the NFL tells you he is uniquely qualified to make such an assinine statement. what a moron.

I sincerely hope nobody is surprised when SOS says something outrageous. It's what he does. If you're shocked by him saying something that's "out there", you haven't been paying attention to CFB for the last, oh, 22 years or so.

And given that Spurrier was such a successful NFL coach we can all take this opinion to the bank!
Bama is outstanding, as a college team. They would lose to an 0-16 NFL team by three/four TDs minimum.

Likely future Spurrier blather: If dissaster struck Knoxville - say, UTK was obliterated - the SEC would adjust. They could easily pick up another school. If they brought in Clemson, they'd still have an orange team.

Thinking like Steve Orr: If that devil-host Saban goes back to the pros in the next couple of years, it'll negatively affect Alabama, and I can take South Carolina to the NCG before I retire.

Googled the game, and found that the college kids didn't do so bad. I think the game was cancelled because teams didn't want their top picks to miss training camp.

Yep ... it's pretty stupid to assume it much less say it.

On average it takes 2-3 years for players to develop the strength and technique necessary to contribute any meaningful minutes in the NFL. Marcel Dareus is still getting pushed around in Buffalo.

Alabama is the best college team I have seen in a long time. They could probably give the Browns or the Bengals a good game. But then again, so could my old high school.

Actually I have to agree with the 'ol ****... Bama could beat an NFL team, the Spurrier coached Redskins !
