12:56 PM ET 10.31 | Former Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson believes that San Diego should send head coach Norv Turner and general manager A.J. Smith packing if the team doesn't make the playoffs this season. Tomlinson aired his opinion on Wednesday's Dan Patrick show, according to NFL.com. The Chargers have lost three straight games after a 3-1 start, including blowing a large second-half lead to the Denver Broncos and falling 7-6 to the Cleveland Browns. Turner's job performance has come under fire as San Diego has failed to live up to expectations.

Why is this guy still here? With the weapons the Chargers have, they only score 6 points against the lowly Browns. The question is so beyond the obvious, we don't get it. This is what a team looks like when they've lost all hope and lost the coach. At this point, anything or anybody would be an improvement. Even Al Saunders would be an improvement

Haven't most astute observers of the game been saying this for at least the last 5 years? What took this particular LT so long to catch on?

October 31, 2012  01:35 PM ET

He may have caught on a while ago, just waited till now to speak up.

U know...next he will tell us that Tebow was on ESPN

Spanos is too cheap and lacks a backbone to make any significant changes.

You have to admire a guy with this ability to under achieve, and yet maintain high dollar employment. Twisted Genius ?

When did we switch the discussion to politics?

October 31, 2012  03:01 PM ET

Reality always seems to defy logic in San Diego when it comes to this discussion.

October 31, 2012  03:10 PM ET

Tooooo little, tooooo late.

October 31, 2012  03:32 PM ET

Dead man walking...

LT's new nickname: Captain Obvious.

October 31, 2012  03:53 PM ET

I'm surprised Turner has lasted this long.

October 31, 2012  04:11 PM ET

Tomlinson takes a pay cut one year, then is booted out of town the next. Methinks he is not a fan of Turner or Smith.

October 31, 2012  04:21 PM ET

Why wait until the end of the year? The wheels are off the Chargers now. Might as well bring in the new management, let them evaluate how the players perform with a new coach calling the shots.

October 31, 2012  04:55 PM ET

Tomlinson's new career is pointing out the painfully obvious? Maybe he should just ****, period. And I hope that the LT that counts --- Lawrence Taylor --- breaks the neck of the LT that doesn't count.

October 31, 2012  05:22 PM ET

Tomlinson and everyone else who watches football agrees that Norv should be fired.

October 31, 2012  07:53 PM ET

For a minute there, it looked like this might be the year it all came together for them. They made some smart offseason moves and had the whole world in their hand, it seemed.

But the annual meltdown got an earlier start than usual this season. I was shocked and a little disappointed when Eli flat-out refused to play for the team that spent the pick on him. Nowadays he's looking like a genius.

But I'm glad, in all that hubub Big Ben slipped to a spot where Pittsburgh could grab him.

Right on The Money LT!!!

October 31, 2012  10:05 PM ET

It's time for the Chargers to "clean house" and rebuild. Norv, the coaching staff and GM have to go.

Even less than astute observers have been clamoring for this for quite a while.
