Pistons a step closer to downtown move

08:16 AM ET 11.01 | Pistons owner Tom Gores may be a "now person," but the future beckons. There are legitimate rumblings that it's only a question of time (perhaps by year's end?) that the city and the Red Wings will announce the proposed construction of a new downtown arena in the Woodward-Temple area. But that's a feasible investment only if the Pistons join in as a partner. ... Gores insisted Wednesday that he's in no rush to leave the Palace. He has invested millions into facility upgrades and still believes that it remains one of the state-of-the-art arenas in the country despite approaching its 25th birthday in 2013. But Gores also sounded like a realist. "If the future is downtown, and that's what we have to do to grow, I'm not against that," he said.

The Pistons are a bankrupt in talent team if the allowed a none descript Jeremy Love to score 12 pt and hand out eight assists. I know the Love factor will be loud this morning appluading that bush league perforamace.

Harden had the performance most people will be talking about today. He made Houston look really smart and OKC really dumb.

The talent is not bankrupt but our guards could not check a coat let alone a NBA player...Knight has to get better defensively and Stuckey well lets just say I hope someone wants him by February. Harden torched our guards but i will wait to see how good he is against guys who play some form of D. If you watched the game Lin was not all that good after the 1st quarter and Harden made everything.

saw bits of this gameDetroit is bad, they play defense like my knicks under mike D'A

JGB I hate to say it but we stunk the joint up last night. No defense! I dont know if Harden is that good or our D is that bad but Im thinking about going with the latter. It is only one game but Im expecting to see a lot of improvement from this team and not necessarily wins but more heart and drive.

Good idea!!???Detroit is America???s most violent city, its homicide rate is the highest in the country and yet the Detroit PoliceDepartment is grossly understaffed,??? Iorio told WWJ???s Kathryn Larson. ???The DPOA believes that there is a war inDetroit, but there should be a war on crime, not a war on its officers.??? . . .Officers are leaving simply because they can???t afford to stay in Detroit and work 12 hour shifts for what they aregetting paid??? These police officers are beyond demoralized, these officers are leaving hand over fist because theycan no longer afford to stay on the department and protect the public,??? he said. . . .???The explosion in violent crime, the incredible spike in the number of homicides and for officers trying to work 12hours in such deplorable, dangerous and war like conditions is simple untenable,??? he said.

Make no mistake Detroit crime rate is insane and these nuckle heads are ignorant but yes moving the team downtown is a good idea. The crime rate in downtown Detroit is very low and unlike the rest of Detroit downtown is heavily protected by the Police. Fact is that more people come to hang out Downtown Detroit in the past 5 years than at any other time. Detroit currently has the Lions, Tigers and Red Wings playing Downtown. Their is very little trouble at any of these events. In fact most trouble at the stadiums or outside of them are from people outside of Detroit. They have interviewed many people about the downtown area and most say they feel very safe in Downtown Detroit and if you were from here you would know that many suburbanites have moved Downtown Detroit.

QUOTE(#17):

Did drummond play? how'd he look?

He played but they do not run plays for the guy and at times he wanders around aimlessly. He will be a good rebounder especially offensive and a good defender but it is a work in progress. He will have his ups and downs.
