08:20 AM ET 11.01 | Anibal Sanchez did just what the Tigers needed him to do in the second half this season, and it's going to cost them. On the heels of a postseason performance that saw him piece together three stellar starts, Sanchez will enter free agency as one of the top available starters on the market. ... The Blue Jays, Rangers, Padres, Dodgers and Angels are expected to express interest in the right-hander, too. "I'm not sure where it's going to lead with him," [Dave Dombrowski] said. "But I do know that he's a very sought-after guy." But given Sanchez's history with Detroit, the Tigers should have an advantage, right? It'll help, Tigers manager Jim Leyland said. But money, as it usually does, will likely determine Sanchez's next move.

Hope we can keep this guy around, but someone else is bound to over-pay for him.

Probably, as it's a lean year for FA pitching.

He's had three straight seasons with no major injuries and decent ERAs, at 28 he's probably not a bad pickup. But, he will probably command a premium he hasn't really earned with the good postseason and the lack of competition.I think it's funny that we have an Anibal and an Adrusbal in the majors, they were Carthaginian brothers and generals who fought against the Romans in the Second Punic War. We need a Scipio to even things out, I'll count one of the Mario's as an equivalent for Marius.

You crack me up...sometimes.

The Tigers had $16.75 million come off the books when they announced Tuesday that they???ve told Jose Valverde, Delmon Young and Gerald Laird to look for deals elsewhere as free agents. So they have some money. Don't agree with Delmon though, the MVP of the postseason.
