Spartans fuel this week? Revenge

08:23 AM ET 11.01 | Last year's Michigan State-Nebraska meeting remains on the minds of the now-unranked Spartans, who at the time had jumped to No. 9 in the Associated Press poll before losing to the Cornhuskers, 24-3. Michigan State managed just 187 yards of total offense on its trip to Lincoln, and Cornhuskers running back Rex Burkhead rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns. "It left a nasty taste in our mouth," safety Isaiah Lewis said. "We left that game last year feeling like we didn't play our best." Said linebacker Taiwan Jones: "It's probably the one game we really got down and we just couldn't fight back into. We've got to come out and regain respect." ... The Spartans' slim chance at returning to Indianapolis goes through Nebraska.

I'm thinking that thoughts of revenge are not enough. Sparty must execute and outscore Their Nebs.

Long day for Sparty if the linebackers of the C.O.C show up like they did last week. Go Big Red, let's run the table and be 11-2 with Rose bowl win.

Seeking revenge does not a winner make. The way the Spartans have played this year they will struggle against that Nebraska team. What fool said Nebraska did not have a winning coach? They have and they will.

If N.U. had Rex back at full strength I don't think it would be a low scoring affair. Not only is he a team leader he can move the chains.

It's at 44.5, and I'm thinking about taking the over......I think there will be more offense in this game than you are expecting

Hard to believe that this is considered newsworthy. Not sure revenge is the attitude of the team, more like wtf did we do last year? We're better than that. Much like the year before when we crapped the bed at Iowa. We played much better the following year. I'm hopping our defense continues to be stout. The offense is going to have to stop pretending we're a power running team. That only works for us if we're playing a true LSOP. We need to open up the offense, more passing on 1st down (not low percentage bombs, but not dinks either) and give Bell some running room. Certainly not going to make running room by handing off on 1st and 2nd down every series.

They lost to UCLA. They got stomped by the only good team they have played. Plus, they now play in a much weaker conference.

Revenge? Shouldn't they be amped to actually win a game this season? Oh yeah, they beat Boise St., so shouldn't they be amped to win 2 games this season?

Calm down. I'm sure he'll be coaching at Arkansas next year and lead them to a national championship.
Are you trying to get Kirk Herbstreit to condemn you on CFB live today?
