K-State has an enemy in the BCS

08:24 AM ET 11.01 | Even if undefeated, Kansas Sate, up to No. 2 in the Bowl Championship Series standings, may wind up suffering an indignity through no fault of its own. [Oregon's] strength of schedule will improve drastically in the coming weeks. That will close the gap in the computer polls, which make up one-third of the BCS formula and currently favor K-State, and allow the Ducks' advantage in the two human polls, which each make up another third of the BCS formula, to boost them up the standings. Since the BCS started using its current rankings system in 2004, the Nos. 1 and 2 teams in the human polls have always met in the BCS title game. That's good news for Oregon, which is ranked second in both the USA Today and Harris polls.

Meh. Conjecture on. Perhaps it will save your job at the KC Star.

Bill Snyder's team. 'Nuff said.

ND is in the NC mix as well, though KS fans want to forget that.

When you're down, in trouble, and you need someone to call..... and nothing, oh nothing is going right....

Close your eyes and think of the BCS and soon it will be there....

K State loses this weekend FYI

I don't think so. It's a home game for them, and OkSU can be beaten by a team with KSU's strengths.

The best part of all this? Kansas State canceled a scheduled game against Oregon this year.K State loses this weekend FYI

I have no reason to doubt your information, so if K State doesn't get in and Oregon does, that would be an epic Karmic faceslap.

Guess no one ever looks at the Alabama schedule. WOW. They are going to finally play another game against a ranked team. That is the most they do each and EVERY year. Thanks SEC for providing them with a woose of a schedule each and every year while making the other quality teams in the SEC earn their way.

To be exact, they had a home and home scheduled for '11, '12 and Oregon asked to reschedule last season to play LSU. Snyder didn't want to reschedule and the rest is history..it would of been the first game of this season.

The argument will be, "at the end of the season", who has/had the best SOS, between K-State, Oregon, ND or Bama???

Jada, good comment and you are right on!!!!! Oregon wanted to play LSU last season and the Ducks and K-State.
.
"This entire dilemma could have been settled if Kansas State and Oregon had met earlier this season. The Ducks and Wildcats were scheduled to play a home-and-home series in 2011-2012, but the games were cancelled due to what Kansas State called a ???mutual agreement.???

According to Kellis Robinett of the Kansas City Star, ???Bill Snyder didn???t want to play the game.??? He got lucky when Oregon asked K-State if they could move the series back a year, so the Ducks could kick off the 2011 season against LSU.

I hope, but something tells me we'll be luck to have 2 undefeated teams by the end of the year.

4 would be great....just don't see it happening

LOL, I said the exact same thing yesterday!!!! Bama SOS is no better than either, K-State, ND or Oregon. Bama has only played one team in the BCS top 25 as of today, that being Miss State, last weekend.
