08:32 AM ET 11.01 | Jeff Skinner was back in Raleigh Wednesday, skating with the likes of Eric and Jordan Staal, Jussi Jokinen and Jay Harrison at Raleigh Center Ice -- and he's not sure where he'll be skating next. Like many NHL players, Skinner is getting antsy. He understands the need for player solidarity in insisting on a fair CBA, but he also wants to play. "We're all hockey players, so that's what we want to do," he said. ... If the lockout lingers, he might look to join the exodus of players going overseas. More than 200 NHL players have made the move and there will be more to follow. "I'm not really ruling out any options right now," Skinner said. "I'm just looking into everything. It's something my agent (Rick Curran) is going to explore."

That's not a bad idea. Or join a beer league for fun. My teams could use a hand.

Somewhat related, I heard Hitchocock coached Missouri's club team recently. Good for him. The Mizzou coach played with us this summer and one of our usuals played for Mizzou--said he talked to one of the players after and the dude said he's never skated so hard in his life as he did during that practice. Ha, that's Hitchcock.

Im probably the last guy in the world that will feel bad for players getting bumped down. Its a part of the business when you make the choice to hold on to the dream. Its not fun, but it happens, and nobody should understand that more than the guy that is trying to hold onto his place.

You aren't the only one. I've been arguing this point since the beginning. It's kind of funny the outrage over NHL players going to Europe and taking away some poor guy's job over there, but no one seems to mind when Russian and Euro players get NHL jobs. You never hear Red Wings fans complaining about Datsyuk or Lidstrom taking away a job from someone. No one complains about Selanne or Kovalchuk taking away someone's job.
