Holiday gets four-year extension

11:14 AM ET 11.01 | As the clocked ticked closer to midnight Wednedsay, it looked like Jrue Holiday was headed to restricted free agency. Instead, with just minutes to spare, he has a shiny new contract extension. The Philadelphia 76ers' guard inked a four-year deal that could pay him up to $46 million if certain incentives are hit. Holiday's process was stunted a bit last year, but he's just 22 and has a ton of upside. He's probably not as good as Stephen Curry and Ty Lawson, who signed $44 and $48 million extensions, respectively, but the 76ers are hoping he can get to their level and beyond.

JGB,

Yeah that is PG's 8-11 is the average range. 12+/yr-14 all star level we talking elite talent very little risk superstar potential. 15+/yr elite of the elite franchise players There are outlier's here and there but that is because some GM's overpay to keep talent or steal talent or some players are making higher money signed at their peak/prime. This is skewed for centers as the numbers would go up.

What you are seeing is a lot of the younger players have more earning potential if they really prove themselves after coming out of college early. Jrue is 22 already on his second contract.

If Taj Gibson got almost $10M per, then this is about his asking price.

But Steph Curry getting that contract is a disaster, and as i have said on other threads, if he plays 25 games this season, GSW must consider themselves lucky.

If de Rozan can get his 10m Holiday is much deserving because of his production
