Vick will never be a good QB the way the Eagles are using him. He's got maybe a couple years left to be effective in the only style he can play, which is run and gun. He can still hurt you that way but he can also offset that with big plays. Trying to force him to be a pocket passer will only hurt the Eagles because he just isn't smart enough to do that effectively.

Michael Vick would be most effective coming off the bench. Suppose, for example, you were a team like the Cardinals with kind of a plodding, vanilla offense and an injury-prone starting quarterback like Kevin Kolb. Your opponents are all ready to continue stifling a pocket passer with limited mobility, but suddenly he goes down and Vick comes in, energizing the offense with a few dynamic scrambles and scoring points.

Sound good? Then come on down to Honest Andy's Used Quarterbacks on Pattison Avenue in Philadelphia! No reasonable offer refused! Trade deadline is today, so hurry, hurry, hurry!

That and the fact that there really isn't a pocket. All staying there does as give the defense a fixed spot to get to. And they do get there. Most of them untouched.

The meetings themselves may be productive, but, if they're meant to be player only why do players talk to the press about them afterward? That's what really hurts the teams.

Grievance #1: Our QB is a psychopath.

Grievance #2: Our QB is a pathological liar.

Grievance #3: Our QB is a dog torturer.

Grievance #4: Our QB is a dog drowner.

As an Eagles fan, it pains me to say we probably won't beat the Saints...but it's nice to see the article declare we are already 3-5....instead of the 3-4 record the Eagles really have.

Which of these matter? How is he a psychopath, how many HUMANS has he killed?

I remember when my boss returned from China he went to a market where they were trying to sell him dog meat. I guess China is a nation of psychopaths.
