01:53 PM ET 11.01 | New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning expressed his support for struggling New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez in an interview with Bob Glauber of Newsday, which was published on Wednesday night. "It's just part of football. You have good years, you have bad years. His first two years, you go to the AFC Championship games, last year missed the playoffs but they were not far off. So that's what it's about. Every year is not going to be perfect. Every year there are going to be tough times. It's about getting through those tough ones and finding ways to win some close games. You just grind through it. That's all you can do."

Initially, I think it might help if he could find ways to get into some close games.

Yea and get a couple weapons around you wouldn't hurt, something he obviously cannot control. There are few QB's in the league who can make nobodies appear not to be just that. Brees, both Mannings, Brady, and Rodgers. Everyone simply cannot be that good.

Some QB's just hate losing, but Sanchize has become so proficient at it that losing has become acceptable to him.

Some guys just have it, and some don't. While it's true Sanchez doesn't have a lot of weapons, I don't think it would make a difference. The quarterback would still have to deliver the ball, and Sanchez hasn't proven he can do that. It might also help if the Jets could protect him a little. I've seen too many plays where it appears the defense was in the huddle.

Sanchez just isn't that good. There's worse, but he'll never be the guy that can carry a team.

What the Jets need is some 3rd year young mobile strong scrambling running QB --- say a 2nd year guy who maybe last year takes a losing team and leads them to 7-4 and the playoffs and then beats a powerful team like the Steelers in the first round of the playoffs --- somebody who fires up a team and motivates everybody --- If the Jeta could only find somebody like that, they could save their season ....

"Mark, take every commercial endorsement deal you get. I don't care if it's a car wash ad on Public Access TV. Take it. Invest everything in a conservative, balanced income-producing retirement portfolio. Because that's what you'll start living off next year."

If I was Eli and the Giants I would want Sanchez to stay QB of the Jets for a long as possible.

He plays QB like I play Madden....I pick my receiver before the snap and tend to throw it to that guy no matter what...not good in Madden, worse in NFL...Mark Sanchez is the perfect QB for a run based offense...just hand it off and get out of the way
