02:16 PM ET 11.01 | Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan called the Oklahoma City Thunder a few times last week regarding James Harden's availability. Harden was dealt late Saturday night to the Houston Rockets instead, obviously. One of the reasons Thunder GM Sam Presti pulled the trigger on the trade with Houston was because he really loved the deal the Thunder were getting back in Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and three draft picks. It was a good haul for the Thunder and a deal Charlotte probably would not have been able to come close to. The Bobcats definitely could have involved Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in a trade. Maybe they could have included DeSagana Diop's and Reggie Williams' expiring contracts with some draft picks too.

Thunderous Intentions

Usual result for Michael Jordan the owner... a day late and a dollar short.

HAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAA! HAAAAAAAAAA! DeSagana Diop--Just what a contender needs to put them over the top. That would have been a good way to get Harden signed. If Presti had told him he was considering a deal with Charlotte, he would have signed the offer sheet in 15 minutes.

The Bobcats do not have the assets to match Houston. Those draft picks sealed the deal
