06:17 PM ET 11.01 | The NBA has announced that the planned season opening game between the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets has been rescheduled for Monday, Nov. 26 at the Barclays Center. The game will be televised on TNT. It was originally scheduled to take place tonight but the league was forced to postpone the game following the devastation left behind from Superstorm Sandy on the East Coast. "It's a great stadium, it would have been a great game but the bottom line is there is not a lot of mass transit. Our police have plenty of other things to do," New York mayor Michael Bloomberg said at a news conference. The Nets organization knew that it could be insensitive to the fanbase to play the game with knowledge that fans from the area may not be able to attend the game.

First!!!!
That's a good thing for both teams. Have couple weeks of the season under your belt before the much anticipated showdown!!

That's total BS. That marathon should have been cancelled as well. Sucks in a LOT of security resources and road closures to pull that off right now.
