08:03 AM ET 11.02 | Ryan Tannehill may have been limited this week in practice, but Mike Pouncey wouldn't trade him for any other first-year quarterback in the league. "I think he's the best rookie quarterback in the NFL right now," Pouncey said of Tannehill, taken by Miami with the No. 8 pick in last April's NFL draft. "Without his success that he's having right now, we wouldn't be the 3-3 Dolphins that we are." So Tannehill is better than Andrew Luck, the top pick by Indianapolis? Pouncey says yes. ... But what about Robert Griffin III, the No. 2 pick by Washington who is third in that category and seemingly has been the NFL's best rookie? "I think he's better than RG3," Pouncey said of Tannehill.

His identical twin brother, Maurkice, graduated a year earlier.

I guess that makes Mike "the dumb one."

Too many hits to the head obviously!

Centers either praise their quarterback or end up with a colonoscopy in practice.

November 2, 2012  08:47 AM ET

I think the Miami defense may have something to say to Pouncey about the teams level of success so far.

November 2, 2012  08:51 AM ET

I appreciate the fact that he's talking about his own QB and giving him the support but Pouncey needs to be drug tested.

As I recall, while he was at Florida he said John Brantley was a Heisman contender. Cut him some slack, though: good offensive linemen almost always have their backs to the QB so they can't possibly see if they're any good or not.

I see there is a new "bar".

HeeHee!!

I'll give Tannehill credit - I thought he would be awful and I was wrong.

As far as being better than RGIII - We will see.

November 2, 2012  09:29 AM ET

What else is he suppose to say... But Tannehill has an advantage as in he is playing in an offense that he ran in college as well... He might not be as good as RGIII but kid is dam close... Get this team some dang receivers and watch them roll...

They are all good and that's all that matters. I don't even want to hear about who is better after just 7 games. Last I checked none of them have won anything substantial in the NFL yet.

Pouncey probably means Tannehill has better hands.

Agreed. It seems to take about 32 games to get much of a read on a guy. That is one reason coaches and GMs are slow to "tear it down and start over," because they know it will take 2 years just to figure out if the new guy can do the job...and if he can't then it will take another 2 years to find out about the next guy, and the coach and GM will be long gone by then.

Better at what? Scrabble?

I dig Tannehill, too, but pray tell, who is Mike Pouncey?
Thanks,
Elliott

Andrew Luck is the best. today is proof, Rookie of the Year for sure. Tannehill is better than RG3, but that didn't take much. RG3 is overhyped garbage!
