08:15 AM ET 11.02 | The Cubs may not have any long-term concerns about Javier Baez, but the prospect is missing out on the chance to develop further in the Arizona Fall League. How did Baez wind up with a non-displaced fracture on the tip of his right thumb? To borrow a medical term from Lou Piniella, it might be classified as a "Cubbie occurrence." "Celebratory high-five or (something like that)," general manager Jed Hoyer said Thursday. "They don't know exactly when he did it, but it was some sort of odd, non-baseball-playing injury. It certainly wasn't anything negative. He didn't punch a wall or anything. But it sounds like he was celebrating and might have hit it wrong." People who've watched Baez extensively say he plays with swagger, almost out of control at times.

What a stupid way to get hurt. Go sit next to Kendrys Morales.

Cubbies have little in the way of experience when it comes to celebrating, so getting injured indulging in such isn't a complete surprise.

I could see getting hurt giving high 5'S if it's like Shaq or Ray Lewis.

At least he didn't have to go on the DL with a punctured ear-drum from a Q-tip. That was the best one I ever heard...

Joel Zumaya missed the 2006 ALCS after playing too much Guitar Hero.

I think the entire 2004 Yankees team dislocated their shoulders patting themselves on the back after going up 3-0 in the ALCS...
