02:35 PM ET 11.02 | Those that grew tired over the year-long drama of Dwight Howard's trade demands will be even more annoyed to learn that the saga goes all the way back to 2009. Howard and Chris Paul had apparently talked about teaming up as far back as then, they each confirmed to Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears. They each tried to get the other to force a trade to their existing team, then settled on the Dallas Mavericks as a third club. However, Howard wavered on his commitment, and Paul eventually was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. One source told Yahoo! that Paul is still upset that Howard wasn't more decisive with his trade request.
