Pitt leading rusher and receiver charged with assault

05:11 PM ET 11.02 | The Pittsburgh Panthers are set to face off against the fourth-ranked team in the nation this weekend but they could be without some of their biggest offensive weapons when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Panthers leading rusher Ray Graham and leading receiver Devin Street have been charged with assault and conspiracy following an incident that occurred at the end of last month. Starting defensive back Lafayette Pitts was also involved in the alleged confrontation. Karl Olsheski, who is the alleged victim, stated to police that he was surrounded by the three players before exchanging words and getting cold clocked in the head by Street.

As an ND fan I wouldn't rush to judgement on this. I remember everyone recently screaming that an ND player accused of rape (and whose vistim ended up committing suicide) was not tried, convicted and sentenced before it came out that he had alledgedly "fondled" the girls breasts through her clothes resulting in the rape accusation. May she rest in peace but to "convict" these three players in the media before the facts are known is no less criminal.
