09:23 AM ET 11.03 | Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said Friday he plans to reach out to former Houston star Lance Berkman to gauge his interest in returning to his old team. Berkman, 36, hit .259 with two home runs in just 32 games for the St. Cardinals last season. The 14-year veteran played for the Astros from 1999-2010 and was part of Houston's 2005 club that fell to the Chicago White Sox in the World Series. Berkman wasn't retained by St. Louis and is a free agent. He could retire, but recently said he'll explore his options before making a decision about his future. Houston isn't expected to be a major player during free agency. But owner Jim Crane and Luhnow have often said the club will likely add 1-2 veterans to add experience to a young roster, and Berkman's return could help bring fans back to Minute Maid Park.

Yes. That is correct. The Vatican declared the 2011 Cardinals team success to be a miracle and were beatified. Thus, the Saint Cardinals.

This would be a good move for both the Astros and Berkman. Make it happen.

As they should. Who knows, Big Puma might have one more year left in him, good thinking Astros. If it doesn't work out, they can always cut bait, it's worth a look.

This depends on how much his feelings were hurt when they refused to even talk to him about a discounted contract to return before he signed with the Cardinals. It is a new GM and owner now. He might jump at it.

Good luck to him what ever he decides. I think he's a great guy.
