Miami could decide to skip bowl

09:33 AM ET 11.03 | Opinions vary as to whether Miami should self impose a post-season ban should the Hurricanes get that coveted sixth victory and qualify for a bowl. But if the Hurricanes do qualify as early as a week from Saturday, when they play Virginia in Charlottesville, UM's announcement -- should the Canes decide to skip another bowl game in hopes of lessening potential sanctions in their pending NCAA case -- could come soon after the game. "If I remember right, we made the decision last year after we became bowl eligible," UM acting athletic director Blake James told The Miami Herald on Friday. "I think that would be the plan. You address the situations as they occur."

You start self-imposing bowl bans before they are handed down by the ncaa, recruits are going to start looking at that and say, "Ain't no way I'm going there. Why should I go there to play, qualify for a bowl game, then have admin self impose a ban. **** that, I'm going somewhere else." When the punishment comes down, take it then, not before. As Harley said, enjoy it while you can. Take it while the taking is good. Dare I say it;

IIRC, USC didn't opt for the self-imposed bowl ban and ended up in the Pistachio Bowl or Raisin Bowl or such. So, the year they ended up with the bowl ban, they could have been in a much better bowl game.
Just a casual observation.

a win is a win. a 1 loss ND that had to scrape by will still get the nod over 1 loss bama or whoever!!!
Id like to see NDs D against Oregons O. Sure, Oregon would put up points...but based on what we saw today ND should be able to hang over 30 on em easily.
