10:12 AM ET 11.03 | We've been waiting for the NHL and NHLPA to resume the CBA negotiations for a while and now it looks like it will finally happen. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly and NHLPA special counsel Steve Fehr will meet on Saturday, according to ESPN and TSN's Pierre LeBrun. It's not clear what they will talk about or why NHLPA boss Donald Fehr and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman will not be present. However, this news comes after it was revealed that the NHL is willing to absorb a share of the "make whole" provision that was offered to the players in their previous CBA proposal.

========================================
And if this is factual, the players and Fehr will look really stupid to all media outlets and fans to refuse to get this non-sense resolved.
I can't begin to imagine how the NHLPA could possibly spin it otherwise.

Actually Puckhead it was the "make hole" provision.
A small typo but a big difference.

Okay Shipper, your avatar and comment reminded me of an old joke.
On a blustery day a lovely young lady was walking down the street in London. A big gust of wind blew her skirt up just as an old fella was passing by. He smiled and said, "airy isn't it? And she replied, "what do you expect....feathers?"

Actually, rumor has it the Fehrer is busy visiting brothels in Thailand while Bettman is doing the NBA circuit.

Before the make whole was to come from the players share of monies...now Bettman is proposing the monies come from the owners side...it is quite different and there's no need to spin it.

really depends what the amount the owners are willing to pay.... this is the owners trying to win the pr battle.... personally imo the owners should pay the entire "make whole" provision.....
