Lane Kiffin has chance to show he's grown

02:45 PM ET 11.03 | If USC can upset Oregon in L.A., will we be closer to knowing what to make of Trojans coach Lane Kiffin? "The biggest question to me is simple...is Kiffin maturing as a head coach? His game game management is a head scratcher at times. I think he spends too much time with his face in the play card and he misses the little things, like not spiking the ball on the final drive like we saw against UA. Kiffin has real promise but until he flips the switch in is game management he will continue to frustrate the USC fanbase."

Lane Kiffin is a jumped up product of Monte and nothing.

To show he's grown?

Sure this isn't supposed to be a thread about Saban?

November 3, 2012  05:58 PM ET

Holy crap. The domers better get it in gear. Quickly.

Think it's too early to declare Kiffin is maturing as a head coach. I'd like to see him mature a bit as a human being first. On second thought, that might be asking a bit too much.

Okay,, how many INT's has Matt delivered tonight?

November 3, 2012  10:06 PM ET

MonTa Kiffin? His time is over at SC..

On the west coast, tackling is now considered aggravated assault, anybody caught tackling will be charged and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I like what Oregon brings, but come on...absolutely ridiculous that nobody on either team did anything even approaching defense. Last years game was a see-saw as well, but it wasnt this pathetic. A guy would catch the ball and 2 defenders would just stare at him until he was 10 yeards past.

I am glad you guys won today Van. Will make our Victory on Nov 24 that much sweeter. Yep, I think Monte needs to go. We have too much talent to play that horribly on D. Granted the ducks are ridiculous on O, but we missed so many tackles, it made me nutty.

Couldn't agree more.

If your team gives up over 60, your days as DC SHOULD be over!

November 4, 2012  01:35 AM ET

Of course...giving up over 50 may want to make you to rethink your DC as well.

Monte said he had never heard of that many yards. Ummmm you gave up almost 600 to AZ last week. Speaking of which thats a small glimmer of hope in BCS land. Az embarrasses USC last week then gets destroyed by UCLA. If everyone wins out it should be Oregon and Bama playing the NC game.

Good point!! The 12 PAC is not really noted for defense. I was really surprised that a couple of SEC teams gave up quite a bit of yards yesterday, Tennessee gave up over 700 yards to Troy and Miss State gave up over 600 yards to Texas A&M.

Holy smokes Matt Barkley 484 yards passing with 5 TD's against 2nd ranked Ducks.
You Trojans better not spoil my fun! GRRrrrr...

The stats say you guys had a pretty good day offensively, is this true or did the Ducks defense just not show up? I have not followed USC or the PAC-12 yet this season, so an honest assessment is appreciated, if possible.

TD Jesus was busy yesterday... blowing that potential winning kick wide right... talking the official into calling a non-existent pass interference penalty... it was glorious!
You Domers will have your hands full stopping USC... you'll have to outscore them!

It was a glorious victory wasn't it, thanks now back in timeout you go Buckeye, no conference championship or bowling for you, you've been a very bad little boy!

I have heard alot about the duck D being much improved over previous years. We didn't have trouble moving the ball. Yesterday was our best game on O by far. Agholor gives teams another WR to worry about, and we ran the ball pretty well. Not sure if their D had a bad day, or our O showed up. This was the O I thought we would see all year. I don't think your D has seen anyone like us all year. That's why I like our chances on the 24th.

Yes The Trojans look to be our toughest opponent of the season, but that's nothing new.
All of ND's home games have been won by a touchdown or less,, all the away games this season have been won by an average margin of 28 points.
Coliseum here we come.
