Why Sixers want sideline photogs gone

08:02 AM ET 11.05 | In the case of Doug Collins vs. sideline photographers, the former has added a case against the latter. [Collins] often has bemoaned the presence of photographers along the baseline, and on Sunday, when he lost shooting guard Jason Richardson to a sprained left ankle in the first quarter against the New York Knicks, the 76ers coach had yet another reason to complain. However, it was Richardson, not Collins, who did the talking. "They really don't belong down there -- you see what happens," said Richardson, who suffered the sprain when he stepped on a cameraman's foot at Madison Square Garden. "It creates all kinds of problems for players. There's got to be a better way."

That's ridiculous. The guy was barely 2 feet away from the sidelines. I agree with Collins, they don't belong there.

With today's lenses lots of fast zoom f/2.8's and bodies that can bump up ISO's, I agree that photogs shouldn't be in the sideline.

QUOTE(#7):

Doug, Doug, Doug, it's not about the players or coaches or fairness, it's about MARKETING and REVENUE. Pictures and articles in the paper and online, sells tickets, not Richardson. He's just a highly paid worker bee.

True but with today's lenses and bodies, photogs can do the same job in the first or second row seats as they are in the sideline.

unfortunately Mee-lo is highly overrated , I have never seen a guy that has such a hard time giving up the ball to his teammates , jacking up 40 shots a game will lead the Knicks to another mediocre season.
