08:18 AM ET 11.05 | The King is willing to auction off his crown for a good cause. New York Rangers netminder, Henrik Lundqvist, announced on social media website Twitter that he will auction off his helmet to help Hurricane Sandy victims. Lundqvist will reveal more details Monday. Also offering relief to those affected by the superstorm are the St. Louis Blues and Nashville Predators. Former players from the two teams will face off against each other Nov. 10, with the proceeds going to storm relief aid. In the lineup for Nashville will be J.P. Dumont, Stu Grimson and Lane Lambert while the Blues will put Kelly Chase, Tyson Nash and NHL on NBC broadcaster Darren Pang on the ice.

Very benevolent of him but people often donate unused items to charity.

Glad a lot of guys are trying to help. It's going to be months before some of these folks have anything like a normal life again.

I can't understand Bloomberg making and spending all kinds of efforts and money to get the kids back to school today. Tomorrow the schools will be closed anyways for elections...wouldn't waiting 2 days have been more prudent and helpful in getting transportation and power more underway before making all these alternative measures?

You do understand that all these issues are handled by different departments. I am pretty sure that NYC can multitask.

I haven't had work in a week plus. There was gas today readily available when i dropped my daughter off at daycare yet because of the rationing i wasn't sure i should go (so i didn't because i am a polite human being) even though there was only 1 car. Still pockets in my own town without power. Weird world here in NJ

You just don't understand Puck Head. Unless they're back in school today the little rats will probably be out drinking sugary Pepsi's, donuts and stolen candy bars. :). Actually, it probably is a good idea to get 'em back in school where it's possible.
