Very benevolent of him but people often donate unused items to charity.

Glad a lot of guys are trying to help. It's going to be months before some of these folks have anything like a normal life again.

I "talked" to him last week. He had no power at the time but is okay.

Great..............., have relatives up in Jersey shore area, they also survived mass destruction, just got power back on last night.....having been through this on gulf coast, lot of recovery to be done...physical and mental....agree....text to donate the $10 to Red Cross....this affects us all, coast to coast.......

I can't understand Bloomberg making and spending all kinds of efforts and money to get the kids back to school today. Tomorrow the schools will be closed anyways for elections...wouldn't waiting 2 days have been more prudent and helpful in getting transportation and power more underway before making all these alternative measures?

agree....restoring power...getting heat and lights are more important to everyone involved, than going back to school today....

You do understand that all these issues are handled by different departments. I am pretty sure that NYC can multitask.

There was gas today readily available when i dropped my daughter off at daycare yet because of the rationing i wasn't sure i should go (so i didn't because i am a polite human being) even though there was only 1 car. You just don't understand Puck Head. Unless they're back in school today the little rats will probably be out drinking sugary Pepsi's, donuts and stolen candy bars. :). Actually, it probably is a good idea to get 'em back in school where it's possible.

those of us that are hundreds of miles away cannot fully grasp the devastation in your area......hoping for a quick and as painless as possible recovery for everyone affected...........
