03:08 PM ET 11.05 | At 1-7, the Chiefs knew changes were coming and on Monday those changes started with Stanford Routt. The Chiefs cut Routt, who was signed to a three-year, $19.6 million deal in the offseason. In the Chiefs scenario, he was signed to replace Brandon Carr, who was lost in free agency, but Routt makes it just eight games with the Chiefs. The Chiefs are still in the hunt for the No. 1 pick in April's draft.

his signing was puzzling to begin with, another speed guy who tries to play football. Dude got cut by the Raiders. The Raiders? Next we will give Jamarfat Russell a two year deal. I just hope we dont draft another good for nothing defensive lineman in next years draft

The Chiefs need to start preparing for next year by playing players who are question marks for next year and see what they can do to help to built the team again and secure the number one pick.

And let the scapegoating continue in KC. Why is Routt being cut and GM Scott Pioli keeps his job? It's not like Routt held a gun to someone's head and made them write that check to him.
