Threat of slide looms over Giants

08:04 AM ET 11.06 | For fans who might be having their doubts in Big Blue right now, Justin Tuck didn't help matters on Monday. He ended the sentence with a three-letter word that is sure to send a shiver down the spine of Giants fans, even the ones fortunate enough to have power restored to their homes. [Tuck] said losing one game does not mean the Giants are embarking on one of their familiar second-half swoons. "I don't think it's a trend," Tuck said [Monday]. "Yet." Of course by "yet" he did not mean losing 24-20 to the Steelers to end a four-game winning streak is the start of another slide. The Giants never think that way, despite the evidence it often is that way. "I guess you keep talking about our history, I'm trying not to but you can't hide it."

I knew this one was coming.

They've played close games against teams they should have rolled over. It's taken last-minute heroics and a bad landing by Dez Bryant to beat teams that are under .500. Why should anyone be surprised that they lost to the Steelers?

Giants should have a disclaimer, like mutual funds do: past performance is no indicator of future performance. They are the hardest team to predict: lose to the Eagles, then blow out the 49ers. The only bright spot so far is that the rest of the teams in the NFC East truly stink, and thay may give the Giants the division and get them into the playoffs. Once there, anything can happen.

All true. They have not played well, especially offensively, for three weeks.

Hey, the beat Niners in SF. They always seem to find it when they need to. Wouldn't count them out.

It may just have been the Pittsburgh pass rush, but I swear I saw Bad Eli a few times on Sunday.

They keep playing like they did last Sunday, that underrated tag will be gone in a hurry.

Giants need an O-line that can run block. Once it became obvious that the Giants could not run, the Steelers could focus on the pass rush. A couple of first downs on the ground would have given the Giants the game. Their decision to pass up some good offensive linemen in this year's draft is coming back to haunt them.

I would like to see Polamalu back in the defense and see if it goes to another level...

Not so sure Bradshaw is not a big part of the problem. When you draft last in each round those ready to play OL are not there. Wilson was a good choice at that spot.

Robataille, you know so much don't you. So smart you have to keep your sentence short. You in all your wisdom still believe the Redskins will get to the Super Bowl. NOT!
Sorry for the attack on you but don't much care for one who calls people in New Orleans fools. Takes a fool to know one, ever hear that? Except this time the fool was wrong in his assessment of the people in the New Orleans area.
Everyone was on the Giants last year when they lost games and what happened. Super Bowl.

They finally figured out how to play with him out of the lineup... at least it would appear that way.
