Spurs off to best start ever

08:07 AM ET 11.06 | After not playing a second in San Antonio's first two games, DeJuan Blair came up big in his 29:10 on Monday. [Blair] responded with 14 points and 11 rebounds to spark a dominating night for the Spurs' bench. With 17 points from Gary Neal -- on 8-of-10 shooting -- and another 12 from Stephen Jackson, the Spurs' subs outscored Indiana's 57-35. The victory at the AT&T Center lifted the Spurs to 4-0 for the first time in team history, a curiously overdue feat for the most successful NBA franchise of the past 15 years. "It's just a stat, not that important in the long term," said Manu Ginobili, who contributed just three of the Spurs' bench points but did notch seven assists. "At this point, we're enjoying it."

Definitely a good start! But they now have a 4 game "mini-road trip". It will be good to see how they do. And, yeah, Gary Neal was red hot and DeJuan looked very good in his first real minutes of the season.

4-0 is good and probably long overdue, but this idea interns that this is the NBA's most successfull franchise over the past 15 years is absolutely wrong, on the other hand, the Lakers, in fact is. 5 to 4 in rings, and I do believe that is what success is based on by most. Kudos to the Lakers contingent, although the Spurs have nothing to feel bad about either!

Yeah, and the Spurs like to get as many players involved as early as possible. So, may be a bumby road for them coming up in terms of a W-L record. But, interesting to watch.
I gotta start watching the Mavs games. 3-1 w/o Dirk! Their defense has got to be doing well, or at least getting there.

Thread should be... "Knicks are off to their best start ever" Who cares about the Spurs... I can't stand the Knicks organization and even I'm impressed with how they're playing..

From what I've been seeing in the news supposedly it is... but whatever they're looking pretty solid at the moment. We'll see if the injury bug doesn't jump in and slow some of that momentum down..

Yeah you cats was talkin, now all you're doin is sqawkin, bout how Melo, and JR are ballhoggin, the Knicks winning, now they got they spinning, all the while dis cat Apple is grinning.
The Knicks changing gears, creatin all kinds of hysteria, cause now they the sum of all suckas fears, Melo diving fa balls, JR still gettin technical calls, then shakin it off, watchin, as that jumper falls.
Nah Apple ain't tryin to start a riot, but I like it when the Knicks keep'em quiet, bite'n dey tongues and zippin dey smile, while the Knicks are takin heads, and doin it style!

I think we pretty much have seen this story repeat itself in the last two years. Great regular season to fail at playoffs. With two aging TD and Manu and the management not willing to spend the ca$h to bring an young AS caliber player to help the 3 dudes their fate seems very likely to repeat itself once again.

At a heat fan i see the Knicks coming along well this season. the bigger question is how will the team go with Amare when he returns??
If anyone thinks they can trade him dream again no one will take his contract on knees that cant be insured to the pay roll.
Good on the Spurs for doing what they are doing hope they keep it up.

Bench Stat ass, and hand him a towel, yeah you know the kind M.L Carr use to wave. I think will fit Stat to a tee. I got a question.......why is it so imperative that the Knicks figure out how to work his bum ass in? Far as I know his ass has been rather useless when needed since his bush league was aquired. The Stat story has a lotta static and I can holly hear his ass.
