08:22 AM ET 11.06 | The rink in Kladno -- showing every bit of its mid-century age -- is nothing to write home about. Isn't the owner taking grief? "Oh," says center Tomas Plekanec, "we teasing him a little bit." About what? "Everything," he says. "Everything [stinks] here, this arena." Plekanec smiles. "But," he adds, "it's somehow kind of magic place, anyway." Game time comes, and presto, the pumpkin turns into Madison Square Garden. ... The wood paneling doesn't matter. The faded paint doesn't matter. The lack of amenities doesn't matter. The negatives somehow morph into positives -- character, atmosphere. All that matters are the Knights of Kladno, and what has already been done, what is going on right now. Who's the owner around here? Seriously. It's Jaromir Jagr.

Our rink stinks because there are No Games to watch........we would also like the negatives to MORPH into something positive before apathy completely takes over.....(maybe it has)...again, life without hockey has gotten us all thinking about alternatives when they actually do hit the ice again..

Mid-Century arena?
So Plekanec has no worries about asbestos and mold I'm guessing...

What's a beuty?

The Wells Fargo Center is much more modern and shiny and palatial than the Spectrum ever was. But, 100 times out of 100, I would rather see the Flyers play in the Spectrum. The WFC doesn't come close.

Weird how come the NY Islanders' old arena wasnt described this way.

IDK.....but I chuckle everytime Jagr comes up. I get this instantaneous replay in my head of Grapes butchering his name........
