Doug Martin hates "Muscle Hamster" nickname

03:40 PM ET 11.06 | Doug Martin is the talk of Tampa, and the talk of most of the NFL after racking up 386 yards and five TDs in the last two games. Most people are now gravitating toward saying Martin is "teaching teams how to Dougie" when he blows off a huge run, but that's hardly his nickname. Martin has been known as the "Muscle Hamster" since his days at Boise State and it's followed him into his NFL days. It's a nickname Martin would like to get rid of before he gets too big of a star in the NFL and it becomes forever attached to him. It's a catchy nickname and at the very least, can't we just all be happy that a member of this team is worthy of a nickname that's not derogatory toward their play? There really hasn't been an offensive Buccaneers player ever worthy of a nickname and even the guys that were, like Warrick Dunn, never were given one.

That is a unique nickname. I can see why he doesn't like it. But a nickname is better than being ignored and unknown.
