Any SEC regrets, Mizzou?

04:10 PM ET 11.06 | While Texas A&M looks to have pretty definitively made the right move by taking much of the SEC West by storm, Missouri's not exactly looking like an instant contender. Mizzou sits at 4-5 and unlikely to make a bowl in their first SEC season, with their only conference victory coming against a Kentucky team that's since fired its coach. But would Missouri fans turn tail and head back to the Big 12? Sounds like the answer there is no.

The money is to good to run them off, and they should help elevate basketball this year even with their football team down.

Dont fret it mizzou! The sec play will make your players better by playing the sec schedule and you should recruit better by being in the sec.

I sent Berry Tramel an email asking him to eat some crow abot the Ags joining the SEC. Here is what I got back -

The consensed history of A&M football:

When Texas sucked in the SWC days, A&M excelled.
When Texas didn't suck, A&M went back to irrelevant and kept its head above mediocrity by playing Rice, TCU and SMU.
The Big 12 era arrived, and A&M put up a fight for awhile.
Then OU and Texas patted A&M on the head and said go play in the corner while with your toy swords while we play for keeps.
Then Tech and OSU caught the Aggies and passed the Aggies.
So A&M, like a lot of Americans living lives of quiet desperation, acted upon its midlife crisis and changed the landscape.
Maybe it will work out. There is no reason to think it will.

Blame Texas. It's all Bevo's fault.

That's true, but TAMU is doing much better this year in the SEC and their recruiting classes are very good as well....

It was a good contingency plan if Kentucky ever gets good you need a replacement doormat....

November 7, 2012  10:34 AM ET

Maybe if their coach stopped drinking he'd have a better game plan. Like using DGB a little more. When he's not sitting out back of the stadium smoking it up anyways.

Wait until basketball season then ask that same question....This year only Kentucky looks to be a true hurdle. Florida will also not be a cake walk
