08:02 AM ET 11.07 | While Antonio Brown and Chris Rainey are likely out for the Steelers, there was better news on the Troy Polamalu front. [Polamalu] may return in time to play Nov. 18 against the Baltimore Ravens. As well as the Steelers have played on defense recently, having their seven-time Pro Bowl safety and former NFL defensive player of the year back in the lineup should make them even more dominant. Or would he? The Steelers are 3-1 since Will Allen moved into Polamalu's spot at strong safety, replacing Ryan Mundy. ... The Steelers have not described the specifics of [Polamalu's] injury but there was a report that his calf was torn. He has been with the team and been taking treatment on it at the training facility on the South Side.

Yeah. The Steelers play much better with him in the lineup. He reads the plays very well from back there.

He'll get knocked out first defensive series.

Yeah, probably. But he can still read plays and his hair is even longer.
He's head and shoulders above anyone my Patriots have back there.

Life is good. Even if Troy is gimpy, he and Ed Reed should play when these two teams meet.

What a dumb statement! Your Giants can't even win against the Steelers without Troy. I'm a Ravens fan and I can tell you Troy is the player I fear the most when playing against the Steelers' D.

That's true. When in doubt, they should just rest him. He's too prone to re-injury.

He is, but he can cover when his head is right.

Sure hope so. We could go undefeated if we stop running the Cover None defense.

He needs to be healthy for the playoffs. I'd be more concerned right now about AB and Rainey.

He has proved to be a good talent with a poor work ethic.. Like those before him, this really depends on whether he'll perform for a coach that demands attention.

He's like Urlacher to the Bears: even if he's slower and can't make all the plays he used to, his presence inspires others. Invaluable to Steelers' defense which is not at all bad.

He's been injured. How does that mean he is slower? Has someone timed him in the 40? No, you just can't remember whats happened more than a month ago.
He won the Defensive POY in 2010 and missed 4 games with a strained achilles. Everytime he's healthy he is all over the field making plays. Let's see what happens when he is back healthy.
