08:07 AM ET 11.07 | When crunch time came to the Bulls during what turned out to be a tight, 99-93 win over Orlando, three would-be cogs were on the bench. Luol Deng, Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Jimmy Butler and Nate Robinson played almost all of the fourth (Tom Thibodeau substituted Kirk Hinrich for Robinson in the final 39 seconds to help switch on screens Orlando was running to free their shooters), with each hitting timely buckets, which was a stark contrast to Saturday. ... This is the second straight game that Thibodeau has sat Richard Hamilton, Hinrich and Carlos Boozer in the fourth quarter. While it's still early, it could happen some more as Thibodeau tries to find the right balance of scoring and defense to close games.

Where Is The Beef, Bros?

This is a big reason why Gibson, although a bench player, warranted the money he received. When its crunch time, he will be on the floor.

Also, not sure how many times Nate Robinson will be playing down the stretch over Kirk....but I'm glad he has been playing relatively well and under control.

QUOTE(#6):

Boozer gets criticised a lot but the guy produces every night. He's not as bad as some make him out.

He is very good offensively. He does produce points and rebounds. But he can't guard a tree.

I think people are underestimating this Bulls team just because Rose is out. This a solid team and you will get both wins and solid efforts most nights.

I don't think they are being underestimated. If anything people are being realistic with expectations. Bull simply aren't a championship team without rose.

That's a fact. I must also say that it's impressive how well they've played so far this season. But don't forget this is an 82 game season - not four. Hopefully they can maintain that energy and sneak into the playoffs.

just cause they are veterans, doesn't mean that they are their best players

More to the point.....just because they are starters doesn't mean that they're the right players for all situations.

This is what people mean by saying "hopefully" the Bulls will make the play-offs.

There is little doubt that the Bulls will make the playoffs if you know what you're looking at. Little doubt.

And last I checked, no one has even indicated that the Bulls are a "Championship team without Rose". Just the thought of such a thing is ridiculous. Still.....you can expect that Rose will return for maybe the last 20 games (or so) of the season.....and for the play-off run.

Jus' sayin'......

This is what people mean "that's others are underestimating the Bulls when those people are" saying "hopefully" the Bulls will make the play-offs.

He CAN guard a tree......until it sways in the wind.....

So what? Nothing wrong with capable bench players...

Kind of like Scottie's teams when Jordon was playing baseball.

--naww, Scottie's team was better than the current Bulls team!! That team could run with Da Bulls even with Rose!!
