Braylon Edwards back in the mix for Seahawks?

12:42 PM ET 11.07 | The Seattle Seahawks announced they have released wide receiver Charly Martin, Danny O' Neill of the Seattle Times reported Monday night. The Walla Walla native had four catches for 42 yards in four games played. Martin didn't have a catch in last week's 30-20 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. In his place, rookie receiver Jermaine Kearse had one catch for 6 yards. Martin was normally used as the backup slot receiver to Doug Baldwin. Baldwin's return from a high ankle sprain last week meant less room available in the receiving corps for Martin. The move also indicates that Braylon Edwards will be back later this week as the team's fifth receiver. Edwards has missed the last two games with a knee injury. He has eight receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown on the year.

It is another example of the cruel world of the NFL, there is always someone ready to take your place on the team, but every one knows it up front, so you just except it as part of the business.

Seattle is hurting for receivers. A couple of years ago they had their top 5 or 6 receivers on IR, and the tea has never seemed to recover.
But the defense looks good, RB should be good for another year, QB is solid with Wilson backed up by Flynn, so maybe this year they can draft Offensive linemen and receivers.
