Villanova's Ty Johnson will transfer

04:47 PM ET 11.07 | Sophomore guard Ty Johnson announced Tuesday afternoon that he is leaving Jay Wright and the Villaova basketball program. As a freshman in 2011-12, he averaged 3.3 points in 17.7 minutes per game, and started nine games despite being hindered by a foot injury he suffered in the summer. He also dished out 65 assists, which was second on the team.
"We're going to miss Ty," Wright said in a statement. "He's handled this with class . . . We want what's best for Ty."
