Metta World Peace, shooting guard?

04:53 PM ET 11.07 | In his quest to limit Kobe Bryant's minutes during the regular season, Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike Brown has considered a unique solution. Brown told reporters that he will give normal small forward Metta World Peace some minutes at shooting guard with the second unit while Bryant rests. "That's going to be my second unit," Brown said. "Metta will be the two, [Antawn] Jamison is the three, [Jordan] Hill is the four and [Dwight] Howard or Pau [Gasol] is going to be the five." The move is unusual because most coaches have been playing smaller players at shooting guard on their second units rather than bigger players like World Peace.

The message here is that the Lakers better cross their fingers for good health come playoff time.

This is how bad there depth is. They have to play MWP at shooting guard. Not even hating on MWP here, although I could, one thing he isn't is a shooting guard.

Is Mike Brown trying to get fired? Just because it may have worked against Detroit doesn't mean that it will work against a 'real' NBA team.

I think he is!!! he screwed up when he let Fisher and Odom leave and didnt anything for them!!! no outside shooters!!!

why did the interns wait for this gem til 5:00 to put this one up?this is hilaroius

Lakers have assembled a great team. Now it's up to Buzz to cough up the money it will take to bring back Phil Jackson. HE WILL GET THE JOB DONE. Dancing around the issue like bees trying this and that is a waste of time.

Let's face it Brown underachieved with the Lakser squad last season. With Kobe, Pau, Bynum... they had to make it to the finals. He can't manage Kobe's ego; the offense he's installed does not match the personnel on the team.

It's just not going to work with what Brown's totting. Point in case. Brown's the coach yet he complains about Kobe's minutes. I think he forgot a coach controls players minutes and that it's his responsility. Seeing him discuss that with the media shows where his head is at. He has no clue!. It's like an auto mechanic complaining that his own car engine is bad...

I hope someone can see where this is headed and fix it by removing Brown asap... before it's too late!

That idea will have a life span of 2 games...
