He understands there is a possibility the Lions could move on without him. He understands if receivers Ryan Broyles and Titus Young continue to develop, they could make him expendable. So what is Burleson going to do about that? For one, he's going to attack his rehabilitation with an almost demonic fervor, making sure he will be ready to compete during OTAs next spring. And for another, he is going to do all he can to make sure Broyles and Young continue to develop. ... It sounds like he got asked a question, and tried to say the right things. I mean "I hope those guys suck so I can get my job back" wouldn't go over too well.
