05:21 AM ET 11.09 | The NHL and the NHLPA met for five hours Thursday and plan to meet again on Friday. Both sides were tight-lipped about the specifics of the discussion but said they did center on the main issues separating the two from coming to an agreement on a new CBA. Both Gary Bettman and his minions will be meeting tonight, as will Donald Fehr and his team before resuming negotiations Friday. The players union reportedly made two offers to the NHL this week, at this point though it is not clear on how the NHL reacted. Both sides have been quiet over the last few days as talks have seemed to intensify. So far more than 325 games along with the Winter Classic have been canceled. More cancellations are sure to come soon and the possibility of losing the entire season looms if a deal is not reached in the near future.

Really don't care anymore. If there's hockey on I will watch. My boycott entails not contributing one cent to the owners coffers. No tickets, not merchandise and no concessions. My revenge is FREE HOCKEY ON MY BIG SCREEN AND A FRIDGE FULL OF BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best o' luck owners!

While in spirit, I agree with you, I'm glad I've been getting my fill of Hockey from the Juniors, KHL, and other assorted leagues worldwide.

If (and even now, that's a big IF), the NHL were to return before the end of the year I would herald the arrival of my season tickets, and still go to the games.

At this point though any real anger at any entity in the miasma is moot, mostly due to Bettman's unequivocal lack of care when it comes to the fans and the league in general, the owners oblivious, or antagonistic attitude towards the labour talks; if you keep an ear to the ground they say they know about as much as the average idiot on the street, but take that with a grain of salt, and finally the players, while I don't disagree they've been on the short end of most of the labour discussions since Der Kommissar took power, they have to realise that if they want to play here, in this league they may have to pay the piper. Although a lot of the concessions asked of by the league would be generally laughed at from just about any other unionised labour organization, it seems the NHLPA lacks the punch to bring any deal to the table, because Der Kommissar will refuse to entertain anything that isn't created by his brain trust (or lack thereof).

So until someone (mostly likely the PA) offers a sweetheart deal to end the lockout, we could be in for a long cold winter when it comes to NHL Hockey.

I'll take a deep breath now. sorry for the rant.

First rule of fan nation - never apologize. They'll see it as a sign of weakness and you're toast.

Second rule - never post something that you want people to read late on a Friday. The traffic just ain't here kid.
