08:32 AM ET 11.09 | Around the time of cautious CBA optimism, an interesting headline comes from overseas. The KHL teams of Alexander Ovechkin and Ilya Kovalchuk are desperate to hold onto them even if the NHL lockout is resolved, the president of Ovechkin's Dynamo Moscow told R-Sport on Thursday. The pair arrived in Russia in September to get ice time during the salary dispute in North America, with Atlanta Thrashers star Kovalchuk joining SKA St. Petersburg. "Is there the desire to retain Alexander Ovechkin at Dynamo after the NHL lockout? Dynamo has such thoughts," Dynamo president Arkady Rotenberg said. "I heard that there are those thoughts too at the Army Sports Club in St. Petersburg," he said. "So we are looking in that direction, we'll see whether it'll work out."

what? A team is interested in keeping a great player? Indeed, this is shocking!

"Atlanta Thrashers star Kovalchuk"

Sorry, but erm, 2 things wrong here. The Thrashers folded, and hasn't Kovalchuk been stinking it up in New Jersey the past couple of seasons?

Apart from that, is there any surprise that both these KHL Teams want to keep these starts on their rosters?

Next time, cut out the part after "2 things wrong here." 99% of us in here know what's wrong. 1% is drunk.

What's Burkie's profile name again?

Gotcha, it is glaringly obvious to anyone with half a brain.

So I take it that leaves out Mr. Burke and most of the NHL hierarchy?

I like your style. You'll fit in well around here.

I appreciate that. Even someone from the Antipodean reaches such as myself know that Bettman is ruining the great game, yet again. Although Burke, from what little I have chosen to see of the man strikes me as out of touch with reality. Anyone that can abide a culture of perpetual loss is truly mystifying to me.

Burkie's a keeper.

Those Russkies want to stay I'm OK with that.

Yep. Stay home if they want. Won't be long before they are forgotten here.

I can understand that, but being at work sort of hampers my choices.

I'll post one ASAP.

Wait, the Thrashers folded? Winnipeg is going to be VERY disappointed to hear this.

Ok, so the Thrashers relocated to Winnipeg, it's not really that much of a difference. the team folded, the franchise did not.
