KD-Westbrook mix growing complicated

08:12 AM ET 11.09 | Kevin Durant came alive late Thursday night, leading some to wonder what took him so long against the Bulls. Maybe Durant is letting [Russell Westbrook] do his thing for three quarters and taking the reins in the fourth. Maybe that's something the two stars have agreed to so there can be harmony. How else can you explain Durant simply watching Westbrook throw up shot after shot throughout the first three quarters tonight, missing more than 70 percent of them? Durant literally did nothing. He didn't demand the ball. He didn't make a fuss. He didn't even appear to try to corral Westbrook. He just jogged up and down the court, as Westbrook continued to shoot until his heart was content.

It's the regular season so they can toy around but come playoff time there will be no room for 30% shooting. But I like their approach though. They have to change it night in night or quarter after quarter to confuse opponents. Watching them play they've lost a lot of depth with Harden's departure. They won't make it out of the West with their current squad. So sad to see money destroy a franchise that was destined to keep floating on the top for years...

Brooks is a great coach according to most of you, and as such, none of you see a problem with this type of play. OKC will be going exactly nowhere ring wise. Durant is today's NBA superstar. Funny though, I never saw Bird, Magic, Mike, Kobe, Barkley, Zeke or Duncan (who also quiet) take such a leaderless approach. I hope one day in the near future Durant gets tired of always coming up short. Even Lebron got tired in Cleveland......Durant should take note!

If Westbrook was making one bad choice after another, Brooks would have said something. It's not all on KD to get Westbrook to distribute the ball more, if needed.
OKC is off to a good start and will only get better.

You have to take the good and the bad side of Westbrook. When his shot is on he is un-guardable but when it is off he just starts forcing and forcing shot after shot. It still hasn't clicked for him when to pass and when to shoot. The good thing about this team is Serge is getting more comfortable on offense. The more Serge scores the less you have to count on
Westbrook for points. This team does not get to the finals unless one of their post players becomes a legit option on offense.

Please these cats are massive hypocrites, if this was Melo doing this there would be a landslide full of crirtisicsm. Westbrook has been doing this for the last two years. Skip Bailey was on tv everyday last year lamblasting Westbrook about this and rightly predicted this was going to be the death of OKC, yet you have all these double standard posters sayin its okay, they'll be alright. It just shows you hate of Melo and no objectivity!

Scott Brooks IS a good coach. A perfect fit for the team he coaches...you know as well as I do that this Westbrook / Kevin Durant thing has been going on for years and they made it to the finals last year...I think OKC will be just fine and will be in the mix again. No one here in OKC expected the Thunder to win the title last year (or this year for that matter). All the local media and the Thunder themselves have said building up to an NBA title takes time...only the national writers have been trying to speed up the timeline for OKC. Just my two cents. Happy Friday!!!

Good morning MMA. Yes, he does frustrate me to no end...but you know? He is probably the fastest player in the NBA and sometimes that doesn't always equate to the most effective player...does he have flaws? Yes, we all do...all players do, but as frustrating as he is, no one would complain if he were on their team...that's the way I see it. On another note, most people know that I try to be objective...and objectivity hurts sometimes...lol KD needs to tell RW that if RW is having a bad shooting night, like last night, that the 4th quarter (and the 3rd if necessary) are going to be Durant's...have that spelled out at the beginning and there should be no problem with fighting over the ball in the 4th quarter...not sure if that will happen or not since they are NBA players and want the ball, but it is just a suggestion. I have been wrong before...and I guarentee you I will be wrong again.

No MMA, I think it shows how little you readily accept truth. If it was Melo, the truth of the matter is they would indeed be very critical of him, you included. The truth of the matter is that Westbrook absolute shoots too much, and thats not just my opinon, its a overwhelming opinon. Dude, you're in denial......speak the truth when speaking, particularly as it pertains to Westbrook!
