01:24 PM ET 11.09 | Well, sure, who wouldn't want Gary Patterson? It doesn't seem like the Rose Bowl-winning coach, who's led his program all the way from the WAC to the Big 12 would leave the Frogs for anything less than a top-shelf job, and Arkansas is not that job. But still, Arkansas appears to be aiming high.

I am enlightened as a sports fan. I do not wish for you to get road rash for lumping UTK in with those "other teams." No, I do not. Be well, Doctor (even if something you consume gives you a sour stomach).

Couldn't agree more. Besides, I get the feeling USC is going to have an opening come January...

Maybe at DC....but I don't think Kiffin jr is gone yet. Depends on how the rest of the season plays out. Lose to Ucla and u may be right.

Probably correct, but not even sure a UCLA L would necessarily get him gone. It could, but he likely gets another year especially if he gives Pops the boot.

Long before anyone gave a dried buffalo chip about UF, whippersnapper.

Dried buffalo chips aren't worthless, you can start fires with em.

November 9, 2012  02:39 PM ET

Finding a coach at Arkansas who can bring home the bacon will be like making sausage. Need all the right stuff inside. Smarts, recruiting skills and discipline all needed of course. But a big enough ego to want to go hoof to hoof with Bama, LSU and now aTm is also required. Find that guy and you'll be living high on the hog.

Nice.....

Agree with the concept, though. Positives....endless $$, good facilities, dedicated fan base, no pro team or other significant D-1 program to compete with.

Cons - small in-state recruiting, tough conference, and fans that want to be higher on the food chain than they deserve.

Will be a very interesting hire....

and anymore fans think just inserting a good coach will make it happen like no later than tomorrow and I think administrators cave too quickly to fans (boosters)....

It can happen....look at what Hugh Freeze has done at Ole Miss.....from 1-15 in the SEC to a bowl game in a year is an amazing turn-around.

I'm sure there are other examples but this is the one I think of first this year.

Sheesh, must be "start a thread theorizing about coaching changes" day. 3 in a row.
