11:08 AM ET 11.11 | Ben Roethlisberger is having a terrific season with 16 touchdown passes to just four interceptions and over 2,200 yards passing through the first half of the season. So that explains why the Steelers are saying Roethlisberger should be in the MVP conversation. "He's a big-time leader, a big-time competitor, a fourth-quarter killer," Mike Wallace said. "He's the toughest quarterback in the league. ... He picked up the new offense really fast. I feel it's time he gets the recognition he deserves."

Roethlisberger never gets mentioned as an elite QB like Brady, Brees and the Mannings, so why would this year be different

Agreed. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is flying solo on this one.
(Great name for a newspaper, by the way.)

Maybe he should follow Eli's example and call a press conference to announce that he is Elite.

Pretty good stats for what he refers to as a "Dink & Dunk" offence. To all those who've served and sacrificed in the Forces...a heartfelt thank you!!!

Now that we have "legitimate rape" in our lexicon, Roethlisrapist can be MVP: Most Valuable ****.

His lack of moral character will prevent him from ever being an MVP, as it should be. The "man" is a turd, regardless of his football prowess. Outside of Pittsburgh, people squirm at the mention of his name.

He's def top 10 in the league but i won't call him MVP...he's on a great team built by a great organization. I really don't think he could carry an entire team like P Manning, Brady, or Rodgers do

Ben's won three in a row without the best safety int he NFL, a no name running back, and a patch-work offensive line....

Largely because he isn't as good as them....
Right now it's Rodgers and Manning out in front for the MVP.

As others previously posted , The guy has quite a blemish on his reputation off the football field , and despite some questioning if it should matter , well it does . Allegedly raping women not once but twice is quite sickening.

Your logic is without merit. 2003 rape charges didn't stop Kobe Bryant from NBA MVP in 2007 and few finals MVP and last years all-star MVP.
