08:05 AM ET 11.12 | Another installment of a Phil Jackson era won't be happening. Jackson was the overwhelming favorite to return to the Lakers until they heard his informal demands, which included a stake in team ownership, according to a person familiar with the situation. "He was asking for the moon," said the person, who also declined to be identified because they are not authorized to discuss the situation. The Lakers then moved quickly to sign [Mike D'Antoni]. ... Earlier Sunday, Lakers guard Steve Nash said it would "be a coup" for the Lakers to bring back Jackson, but he also had kind words for D'Antoni. "Obviously, I think everyone knows how much I love Mike," said Nash, who played four seasons and won two MVP awards under D'Antoni in Phoenix.

So somehow Mike2 is > Mike1??
If Lakers didn't land Phil, this whole fiasco is a total distraction. OKC is settling down, and will be a threat.

I really dont blame the Zen Master for asking a percentage of ownership. They could have given him 5% or something. Thats fair!

Yet another dumb move by Jim Buss, not saying that Mike D'Antoni is not a good fit, but definitely Jackson is a better choice

But seriously, if D'Antoni couldn't handle Melo and Stot etc, can he really handle Kobe and Howard? Let's us all take a guess as to how long he will be there! My guess is this year only! He will be gone by next year.
