Rockies buying self-defeatist hype

And it's an attitude the media has played up for years so maybe they should look at themselves 1st.

They only won 29 games on the road last year, the bottom line is the Rockies now are the worst team in the NL since the Astros have left.

It's also a poor excuse for failure.

Good point, Toad.

If you look at the problems of pitching at altitude the media says you are being defeatist. If you don't look at the problem, they say you are a Pollyanna or burying your head in the sand.

Pitching in a little park like Fenway is a problem, too. But the Red Sox have managed to find ways to deal with it. Pitching in Texas with a little park and brutal heat presents problems, but the Rangers have managed to figure out a way to make it work.

I think I like Weiss' attitude better than the reporters.

The colorado rockies are an embarrassment to Major League Baseball.

Loading up their own baseballs in the humidor without Selig's consent? They are the only team in the league allowed to juice balls. It took Tim Lincecum calling out the entire organization on national television for there to be any regulation on what game balls actually make it to the humidor.

21 out of 22 games to finish the season in 2007? It makes sense now.

Build a dome or relocate. Until then, the rockies are just a disappointment. Feel bad about it colorado.
