Justin Upton could replace brother on Rays

08:15 AM ET 11.12 | The Rays aren't willing to play their cards, of course, but Andrew Friedman said after returning from the GM meetings the team may be aggressive early this offseason. "We had a very productive week of dialogue on a number of different fronts," he said. ... "We are working through what that ratio will be and which moves make the most sense to attempt to do on the front end of the winter as opposed to late." One scenario that emerged from the meetings was acquiring OF Justin Upton, the younger brother of departing free agent B.J., from Arizona. It remains to be seen if they can match up given the Diamondbacks' primary desire for a top young shortstop, as the best the Rays could offer is prospect Hak-Ju Lee.

I don't know about the rest of you but I will be so glad when Upton is traded so we don't have to hear about him every week.

It will probably end up being the most discussed non trade.

You have a point. They've been talking about him being part of a trade for 2 years now.

You have what has officially been termed "Upton Fatigue". The bad news is they are still working on a cure.

i think the d'backs owner and the GM are making early money from this, too many ideas about justin upton and one of so many would qualify for a winner team which at the end the d'backs could get the last strike!!!

yeah, i mean the rays is not a franchise WHO just through money in the drainer, best deal for the rays is,,,,,, trade shields and chris archer or torres for trumbo , they are in need of a first basemen, and it would be at 400k which is the right number for rays!!!

the rays have what most teams DO NOT HAVE PITCHING, PITCHING,, aside from oakland the rays are loaded with young pitching prospects, the angels, the dodgers, the rangers ,the red sox, the yankees, somebody's team would benefit from any trade with the rays!!!

if things go as the rays GM expected, trades would be on as earlier as next month or should i say this month perhaps??

which is why the d'backs are working this type of a trade, but don't forget the rays are well known for their resiliants and perseverance things could benefit the player himself, after playing a season or two in rays organization justin upton could get experience and maturity plus the weather its much different from arizona's desert!!!
