Dooley may not last the season

08:16 AM ET 11.12 | In the estimation of many, Derek Dooley won't get a fourth season in Knoxville, which would leave the operative term "when" and not "if" he is let go. It seems likely that athletic director Dave Hart would let Dooley finish the season even if the Vols drop their contest to in-state rival Vanderbilt next week. Perhaps an announcement on his impending dismissal would come before the Kentucky game, though, if the Vols fall to the Commodores. Nonetheless, Dooley won't get a chance to continue to stabilize a program that had fallen on hard times in the final years of the Phil Fulmer regime as well as Lane Kiffin's lone season. If the Vols are able to net a bowl berth, an assistant coach would likely coach the game.

The UT Board has already contact Phillip Fulmer to see if he would be willing to show up to practice and eat Dooley. As a back up the board has also reached out to Charlie Weis's agent.

Alabama only drops to 4th. I'm sure there are a lot of butthurt fans out there. Odds are better this year we make it to the BCS CG than they were last year. It can happen.

Anything is possible. I have said all along that the Horns were not as bad as OU made them look and they could knock off KSU if the stars were aligned correctly and lets not forget USCw did put up 50 points on the ducks the first time around (a couple of stops and who knows). This is why they play ALL of the games!

UT will hire an experienced HC with an NC who grew up in TN and who's family is a legend in the HS coaching ranks and is on the hotseat at his current gig because he cannot keep from being embarassed on the field by the schools biggest rival.

Yeah they're going to have to bring their best that's for sure. I thought it was possible when they almost lost to LSU, now seeing them struggle vs A&M I think we have a shot. Good on you for pulling for the good guys!

LMFAO, JK, you are one funny dude!!!!!!! Bama lost at home to a two loss team and Bama was a 16 point favorite. Bama is a "very" good team this year, but, IMO they were better last year. Don't forget they still have to play Georgia in the SEC CG!!! I guess it's possible that Bama could still get to the "Flawed" NCG, but quite a few things must happen and one of them will require you to root for USC to beat Notre Dame. Can you do that????? :-)
