Tuberville apologizes for slap, Big 12 investigating

If he keeps his job after striking an employee in public, he will be lucky. At best, it is off to the re-education camps for TT.

You got caught Tommy hitting your assistance because at the time you were in trouble about losing the game to Kansas. I don't think you care if you get fired because I think you are leaving to go back to the SEC anyway.

After watching the video, it did look like he smacked his headset off. If he wanted him off the field he could have grabbed his arm? I am not buying his story as during the time in the game was there not a penalty that cause Tech to have to punt?

How come this NEVER happens in the NFL?

TTech was making a number of substitutions. They were called for an illegal formation when a 12th player started to line up at WR before running off the field. Before the snap, TTech only had 11 on the field, but the flag was out and the whistle blown. Peanlty was inforced.

Tubs swatted at an Asst, knocking his headset off. Vid clips are available. Clearly an act of temper, but hardly injurious. I doubt it would be getting the play it's receiving without the WSU Wilson/Leach situation.

While I do agree with you in theory Joe, you can't defend this. I can't think of ANY workplace (outside the MMA and Boxing) where it's ok to smack someone. Pretty sure what most of us would do, if someone at our respective offices laid hands on us. I know what would happen with me Horrible idea on TT's part.

To be clear, I do not condone whacking folks up side the head. I do contend that the incident would not be getting the attention it's currently receiving were it not for the Wilson/Leach thing at Wazzou.

No. I'm suggesting that the conference doesn't need to investigate it. Publicly reprimand him and move on. Investigating it makes it sound like he has some kind of underground abuse center going on.

Public officials (football coaches, politicians, etc)-when you screw up, admit it, apologize and move on. This bs about getting the assistant off the field is what is getting Tubbs in more hot water.

Things blow over quicker when you don't try to bs your way out of it.

Believe me when I say, I'm not the one to defend Tuberville. I think you need to let the guy that was slapped decide what he wants to do. If he is just going to take it, then that's that, if you ask me. Reprimand Tuberville and move on.

The colonel already uses that look. ;-)

As I recall....just a year or two ago, the head coach at New Mexico punched one of his assistants in the jaw at a closed door meeting--believe he even broke the guy's jaw. The head coach was suspended, but he did keep his job. But he has been fired since.
